I love the Fall foods of Thanksgiving because they’re so warming and comforting.
What’s not to like?
They’re perfectly designed to make us feel grounded, warmed and insulated.
Thanksgiving Day is, for all intensive purposes, a grub fest. As much as we hate to admit it, it’s all about the eating and less about the thanks giving. I think part of what makes it so hard to slow down and focus on gratitude is the fact that the food is heavy and steeped in tradition, not nutrition.
We rush to get it all done and then we hurry up and eat because we’re still in a frenzy.
If you want to do things differently this year and focus your energy on really, truly feeding yourself and your family I invite you to try this new approach to Thanksgiving meal.
It’s called a “Buddha Bowl”.
Basically, it is a healthy selection of grains, veggies, sauces and dressing, nuts and seeds. It’s a combination of really anything you could ever want. “Buddha Bowls” have many different names but they all have one thing in common – they’re simply delicious.
Not only that, they’re filling beyond belief and very easy to prepare.
In my Thanksgiving take on the “Buddha Bowl”, each little component will fill you up and bring you a strong sense of satisfaction, knowing that you’ve just served your body a massive dose of healing and nourishing real food.
Although this meal is entirely Vegan, it doesn’t have to be. You can still use butter and cream! Just make sure it’s the best quality possible and all organic!
But you should know, this bowl is the full package. It’s very flexible because you can even make this using all your traditional Thanksgiving Day favorites.
Mix and match using whatever your favorite foods are.
The other lovely thing about making this Gratitude Bowl is that you can easily make it again the next day using all your left-overs.
Why do all the hard work of cooking if you’re only going to eat once?
In this guide, I’ll show you exactly how to cook these healthy foods the right way so they taste savory and rich, not crunchy and bland!
You can even make all the foods the day before and serve them up piping hot to a happy crowd. Assembling each bowl is easy and fun. I personally think it’s a show-stopper that everyone will love.

First, I’ll walk you through the recipes and then teach you how to assemble the bowl. Are you excited? I know I am!
Rather than mashed potatoes, we’re using mashed cauliflower, carrots, and garlic. The stuffing in this bowl is actually quinoa pilaf with cranberries and almonds. The gravy is divine. Even though it’s vegan it couldn’t be more savory. The brussel sprouts are simple. Just steamed to keep the freshness. The cabbage is an awesome addition because of its color and the fact that it’s raw. And lastly we have fresh kale sprouts to make the dish complete.
It’s very warming and hearty like a big Thanksgiving meal, but it’s actually quite fresh and healthy. Each dish promotes healing and weight-loss, energy and vitality!
