Brianna, I have several comments so hope I’m allowed more than just one. I too have experience with dressing for the cold from my experience living in Alaska for three years and also in several of the New England states. I currently work outside in all weather and during the winter it can be a long, cold day. My first tip is to wear an allover layer of body lotion. It keeps the moisture locked in and skin from dehydrating from the wind and then heating systems inside. Next, we have a saying that “cotton kills”, so would have to disagree with wearing this particular natural fiber. I do love silk longjohns and socks (I wear two pair of socks, one silk and one wool or a blend). The high tech synthetic material is good if you can’t get silk. Next on the fashion side, be sure to wear a necklace (either a bold statement necklace or your daintier pieces UNDER your scarf so when you DO take off your scarf you will still look “finished”. Definitely agree with mom’s and grandmother’s advice to wear a hat or ear muffs and leather/wind blocking gloves or mittens. Sunscreen is an important layer even in the winter as is lip balm for your lips! Oh, and lastly, drink lots of water to stay hydrated. Hope these tips help. You are doing an amazing job with your blog! Keep up the good work!
