Wondering what to get your mom for Mother’s Day? Maybe you’re wondering if should you get jewelry for mom on mother’s day?
In today’s video, I have a special guest that will help us answer those questions and more. If you’re looking for the perfect gift for the maternal figure in your life whether near or far, biological or all-around lovely lady then you will love this video.
What better way to talk about what to get mom for Mother’s Day, then to have my very own mom here to talk about mom-approved Mother’s Day gift ideas? Since I’m a dog mom, I don’t think I would have the word on what to get your mom for Mother’s Day. However, my mother, Hope, is here and we’ve got lots of goodies to show you. Plus we’re opening up a bottle of wine.
So grab a cozy spot, grab your glass of wine, and watch this week’s video all about Mother’s Day gift ideas for 2020. Consider it a Mother’s Day Gift Guide from me and my mom to you and yours.
Thank you to Ana Luisa for sponsoring today’s video. This is the third collaboration I’ve done with Ana Luisa and I’m so honored to be doing this with them.
Gift Idea #1 – Ethical Jewelry
Maybe the idea of jewelry sounds outdated. Should you even get jewelry for mom on Mother’s Day? The answer is: yes. Yes! If you’re like me and want to get something for your mom, I think it would be cute to buy two pairs of similar studs and split each pair so that you’re both wearing one of each earring.
I’m also wearing the Alyssa Paperclip Necklace (Sold Out), Ana Gold Necklace layered with a Gold Cross Necklace (Sold Out), Palace Ring in Deep Blue, and Sol Ring (Sold Out) from previous collaborations.
Even though several of the pieces I’m wearing are sold out I still recommend checking out their new collection, which is adorable.
Ana Luisa is running an exclusive sale this Mother’s Day. They have gorgeous jewelry starting at $39.00.
With their unique designs and cute gift boxes, they’ll make sure you and your loved ones feel special whether you’re with them or sending from afar.
I love their jewelry so much because they are ethical and sustainable. Ana Luisa uses recycled high-quality, noble metals for all of their designs. So this jewelry is not going to irritate your skin and won’t tarnish. And because they’re using the recycled metal it’s much, much better for the environment and the people who are sourcing these materials.
Gift Idea #2 – Organic Wine
I love Trader Joe’s because, if you are based in the United States, they have an organic red wine that’s only $3.99. You can’t get a better deal than that. Pick up one or more bottles of red and white for mom and create a gift basket with all of these items included.
As my mom would say, anytime you’re with family you can open a bottle of wine to share a moment.
If your mom drinks wine, try to find out her favorite brand and share a bottle with her or send it via the mail. She will feel so loved just to be thought of in this special way.
Gift Idea #3 – Unique Framed Photo Or Art
When I got back from Paris, my husband and I had talked a lot about what we were going to do with all of the photographs we took. So for Christmas, I had a bunch of photos printed and framed. On Christmas Day my mom was like, “Uh, not fair. I want some.”
You could do something similar by having a childhood photo enlarged and framed. This would be an awesome thing to do for your mom or someone you love and care for. Have something that is precious to you or to each other printed and/or framed.
Maybe there’s a memory that you’ve shared together about a particular place or moment. According to my mom, a framed photo of yourself given to your parent would be a great gift. You could even paint or draw an image of the both of you and have that framed.
That’s what I did for a past Mother’s Day and let me tell you, it was a hit.
Gift Idea #4 – Skin Care and Body Care Products
Something that my mom and I always accidentally get each other for any kind of major holiday is this specific lip balm from Germany.
We both fell in love with Dr. Hauschka products some years back and this Lip Care Stick has actually become one of our essentials and we quite often buy it for each other.
I also just recently gave my mom some face masks as a thank you present. I recommend this one from Andalou Naturals. It’s an instant lift and firm hydro serum facial mask. You can also get a trio pack on Amazon. And for the mom who’s stressed all the time, consider a CBD or Lavendar and Chamomile bath bomb from Pacha Soap Company. You can find those at your local Whole Foods or on their website right here.
Gift Idea #5 – Older But Better, But Older
Our final gift idea is one of my new favorite books, an instant classic, called “Older But Better, But Older” by the famous French model, Caroline de Maigret, and her co-author Sophie Mas. This is a followup to the book, “How To Be Parisian”.
I think both of those books are essential must-reads, but “Older But Better”, is a hilarious take on aging as a woman and I think any mom would be tickled pink to get a copy of either or both books.
In conclusion, my mom and I hope that you’ve enjoyed our round-up of Mother’s Day gift ideas. Remember that even if you have a hard relationship with your biological mother or have lost a mom, you still deserve to celebrate with women who care for you. Every woman has a maternal instinct for the people in her life to one degree or another. Give these gifts to yourself, a co-worker, mentor, or friend in your life.
I’d like to thank my mom, Hope, for being my mom and being the biggest support system to me over the years. Because of the sacrifices she made, I was able to pursue my dreams and become the woman I am today.
I can imagine that must be scary to bring a human into the world, but whoever you are, if you’re a mama reading this, you’re doing a great job. Happy Mother’s Day.
