Sometimes Christmas isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Family tension can bring up feelings of fear or insecurity, irritation or frustration. Just because its a holiday doesn’t mean we’re less susceptible to our feelings. In fact, it may mean that we’re more susceptible to our emotions. Guess what though? Feelings aren’t facts.
You have choices in every situation.
One gift I’d like to share with you today is the gift of stillness and mediation in the midst of a busy day. I’ll say it again, you have choices my dear and you can choose to be at peace when things get a little hairy.
Steal a moment away in a bathroom away from a crowded living room to practice 3 or 4 minutes of meditation. Focus on what is going well and remind yourself that you’re OK.
Christmas Meditation
God, thank you for this moment.
I honor my feelings without letting them run my life.
My job is to heal myself and keep the focus on me.
By doing this I give others permission to do the same.
Whoever you are, where ever you are, no matter what you’re doing or what you’ve done…I hope today is filled with love and rest for you.
