If you’re looking to simplify your wardrobe and find a few essential pieces that will stretch wardrobe as far as possible look no further than the black blazer. It’s comfortable, classic, chic, and you probably have one in your closet right now.
Similar to the LBD (Little Black Dress) the black blazer is a classic and essential staple piece for any woman’s wardrobe. It’s amorphous, you can wear it with anything, dress it up or down, stays fresh in season and out, and anyone can pull it off. It is one of the items I typically find in all of my client’s closets during a consultation.
I want to show you 4 simple ways you can style this staple piece using items you might already own. A skirt, shorts, boyfriend jeans, and black jeans, a t-shirt, and a tank top.
Why the black blazer does so much for you
A black blazer helps to create an overall look that is polished without looking overpolished. I wear my black blazer all the time and wear it when I’m feeling frumpy, lazy, or just blah. It elevates my look without me having to do any work at all.
The black blazer is basically a blank canvas that can add some sophistication to any outfit and because it really is so ubiquitous, it’s not obvious that you’re wearing the same garment again and again. It takes the style of whatever you’re wearing.
It really is an item that I consider an essential for anyone because it is one garment that will tie your entire wardrobe together.
Keep in mind that I’m using clothing that I have in my closet. You can take what looks I’ve styled and put your own spin on them. Do what works for you and swap out a bottom or top for what makes you feel most sexy, confident, and comfortable.
Fashion is formulaic, but personal style is fluid and intuitive. Draw upon your own likes and dislikes to style looks that you love.
Let me know what you think about the looks I’ve styled. Leave me a comment below letting me know what other items you’d like for me to style in multiple ways!
