We’re not all blessed to live in Paris or in France in general. So how do we adopt the French pace of life when we’re not in France?
Today I’m showing you how to live like a French woman wherever you are! You don’t have to be French or live in France to appreciate all the beautiful things she has to offer. You just have to have the eyes to see it. The eyes to see all the beauty where you are.
Embrace French culture that is around you
Consider joining the Alliance Francaise or supporting local businesses that offer French foods. Even if there are only European places around you, go there. They still give that much-needed charm.
I like going to the French Market here in Knoxville as well as to a bakery called Paysan.
Walk around and enjoy architecture
Walking around with someone you love looking at all the beauty around you is one of the most French things you can do. It inspires me to take photos again, get dressed up, and see my city with new eyes.
Anywhere with older buildings you are sure to be inspired.
Along those lines, I do love dressing up and putting my best foot forward. One of the easiest ways I know to do that is by adding just a hint of something special to my look in the form of jewelry.
Dress up even just a little
Jewelry can make me feel instantly more put together and chic even if I’m wearing a simple outfit. It’s a good way to lift your spirits.
Today’s video is kindly sponsored by our long-time friends Ana Luisa Jewelry. I absolutely recommend checking out Ana Luisa’s ethical and sustainable jewelry. They are currently running the biggest sale of the year and it’s a perfect time to find something that inspires you to find a bit of joie de vivre.
I know you will love them as much as I do!
So, how do French people live? What is the French lifestyle like? What makes the French so enviable? And how can you live like the French even when you’re not actually living in France?
If you’re French and living in France, you are truly blessed!
Don’t get me wrong, I love America. She’s my home. But having lived in Europe (Germany) as a kid, I was exposed to another pace of living. Once you taste that, you can’t forget it.
Gertrude Stein once famously said,
America is my country, and Paris is my hometown.”
That’s how I imagine my heart feels.
French culture has its quirks just as much as American culture, but there are some very admirable qualities that really do help to uplift me and bring me lots of encouragement. I don’t know about you, but the past 2 years have changed me forever. And as the real winter approaches, I find myself needing more and more light and beauty.
The French are known for taking pleasure in small things. They are a very sensual people. Meaning they use all five senses as much as possible when doing what it is they are doing at any given moment.
And since I can’t stroll the banks of the Seine currently or sit on the bench at Parc Monceau, I’ve decided to find Paris where I live.
Finding Paris where you live is easy if you know a bit about the French lifestyle, the French way of life, French lifestyle habits, and the French spirit. But you have to have the eyes to see it.
Here are my best tips for living la vie en rose!

Good evening, Bri!
Have you heard of “Escape to the Chateau”? It’s about a couple who bought a chateau in France and it’s a money pit but at the same time amazing what these people can do to fix this place up on their own. And they have fun personalities. It is found on Peacock, which is a streaming service. I opted for their free version and found it there.
I hope you enjoy!

Loving the idea of French inspired holiday decor. Also, sometimes I find a French Cafe Playlist on YouTube as music helps me slow down and get in a little French.

I enjoy listening to French music on YouTube and listening to French radio channels live on TuneIn Radio. Especially agree with your point about kicking up your personal presentation a notch or two! Merci pour ce vlog!
