Did you know that women, on average, have about $500 of unworn and unused clothing in their closets?
And that a working woman will spend 7 hours per mont standing in front of the closet deciding what to wear?!! That’s 14 minutes a day and 119 days over a 47-year career!
It also might shock you to learn that an average of 65 pounds of clothing per person is thrown away every single year in the U.S. alone.
What all of this is telling me, is that we have a problem we’re not really addressing.
The truth is if you feel like you have nothing to wear it might be because you actually have way too much to wear. You may not know what your exact style is or you may not like the way clothes look or feel on you. So rather than sinking any more money into things that may not end up working for you, why don’t we spring clean our wardrobes together!
I’ve been wanting to do a big wardrobe edit on myself for a while now. And I thought rather than doing it all on my own I would invite you along for the ride!
In the past, I’ve made thousands of dollars selling my clothes, shoes, accessories, and even some furniture online and through consignment. This is one of the best ways I know how to refine my style and to make a little extra cash to put towards the things that I really want, like helping out friends and family, paying off debt, or saving for travel.
Starting next week, I’m going to be hosting a free 7-day challenge where I will be guiding us through a wardrobe edit so that we make money from our closets!
How much money do you think you could make?
Join the challenge below to find out!
How it works
I’m calling it the make cash from your closet challenge or #cashfrommycloset and here’s how it will work.
For seven days I will guide us step-by-step through purging our closets, making decisions about each and every piece, whether or not we should keep it, and if it should go to charity or be sold.
And then I will show you exactly how to prep, photo, list, and sell your clothes, shoes, and accessories for cash.
Each day for seven days, I will teach you on live video how to do each step and how to choose which selling method is right for you.
I’ve sold clothes in person, online, by hosting pop-ups, and just having friends over to shop. I’ve got loads of resources about where and how you can sell regardless of how valuable you think your clothing might be.
It doesn’t matter if you have a large or small closet, designer clothes, high street clothes, fast-fashion, or second-hand items. You can make money from your unwanted pieces and I want to show you how!
We can do this together and I believe that if we really put our heads down and focus on getting these things out of our closets, we could make back that $500 that’s just hanging out not doing anything for us.
What would you do with an extra $500?
What would it be like for you to have more space in your wardrobe? Can you imagine all the amazing outfit combinations you would be able to create knowing that you only have things that make you feel amazing and confident?
No more clutter, less laundry, less guilt about not wearing things, less time worrying about how to put together outfits, less stress overall.
More space, more confidence, more money, more clarity, more time, more freedom!
When it comes to clothing, less is actually more. Whenever I style my clients who have smaller wardrobes, we’re able to create a wider variety of outfits because the limitations force us to be more creative. I’ve even helped one of my star clients make $2500 out of the unwanted clothing, shoes, and accessories she had in her closet.
You probably won’t be able to make $2500 or even $500 in seven days. Obviously, that would be amazing if you did! But what if you could make $25, $50, or more?
In the end, it’s not about the money exactly. It’s really about creating a system to get your unwanted items into the right hands. It’s about freeing up your mental and physical space.
My goals for the challenge
Doing things as a group is the only way that people can really succeed.
So it’s my goal for us to make as much money as we can out of the clothes that are just sitting in our closets.
Personally, I am aiming high and hope that by the end of the seven days I will have made $500.
I’ve got a few forever pieces that I’m wanting to invest in and I’m refusing to lay down any cash for them until I make some money back. Plus, as you know, it’s my dream to go to Paris and I would really love to have some money saved up for plane tickets, food, travel, and of course, clothes!
But I will be happy with whatever kind of progress I make. Even if it’s just getting the ball rolling.
Are you worried about tech or the quality of your clothes?
If you want to join the challenge it’s totally free and I would love to have you.
There are no requirements or rules for you to join. I will be guiding you every day, for seven days with live training on how to go through your closet and get rid of the things that aren’t serving you, how to set them aside and stage them for selling, how to navigate the consignment world, and how to sell things online even if you’re not tech savvy.
Each day you’ll get a live lesson from me and I will be holding your hand through every step of the process.
If you’re not great at photography or don’t want to sell things online I have loads of options for you too.
I can’t wait for us to clear out our closets, and to get our time and money back. Let’s make space for the things that we truly want and need in our lives!

So excited for this! I have been trying to sell good quality pieces from my closet on Poshmark, eBay, Instagram, Facebook with little to no luck! I’m guessing because I don’t have the followers or know much about how to go about it. I’ve been trying to sell my designer pieces for extremely cheap but still nothing seems to sell. I’m really looking forward to getting some tips from this challenge 🙂
