This is the final day of a 7 day challenge which is an excerpt from my upcoming ebook. I’ve pasted it here.

“Dress for success.” “Dress for the job you want.”
We’ve all heard these messages a thousand times. But I say “dress for peace” “dress for ethics” “dress for beliefs”.
Ethical style is a term that is just now emerging, which in my opinion, is a little bit too late.
Style is the direct manifestation of what we believe and value.
So if we could easily say don’t be fast, easy, cheap, or fake when talking about food we could just as well say it when talking about clothing. The sad truth is that clothing, or should I say fast fashion, is killing your time, your space, your confidence and the planet.
Some scary stats
- The average American throws away 65 pounds of garments per year.
- The average woman has over $500 of unworn clothing in her wardrobe and 300 clothing items in her wardrobe.
- The average woman spends 4 hours a month deciding what to wear.
- And although we have increase the number of garments we buy since 2012 we are actually spending the same amount of money.
“Kimberly’s” Story
“Bri taught me the importance of quality over quantity, of cleaning out my closet, and ethical style.
Now I’m not as overwhelmed when I do shop because I’m mindful of what I’m looking for. I’m focused on each piece of clothing being a clear and deliberate choice that I can wear with pride.
I feel beautiful and confident and like I’m representing exactly who I am with the clothing I wear. Bri inspires me constantly. She is 100% the reason I now feel confident, comfortable and well represented in the outfits that I wear.“
Where to shop
Choosing ethical brands is one of the best ways to source new clothing. But I also highly recommend shopping for lightly used or vintage clothing. Here are some places to take a look:
