I’m excited to announce that I’ll be speaking at Pecha Kucha this coming Thursday night at the Bijou Theater here in downtown Knoxville (details are on the poster or you can find more info by clicking here).
This is going to be an amazing event and if you live anywhere near Knoxville I invite you to be there. If you’re not familiar with Pecha Kucha, it’s like the Ted Talk of Japan…only way more structured. I get six minutes and forty seconds to blow people’s minds while my slide presentation is on auto rotate behind me. Sounds challenging right?
I’m a little nervous but mostly excited. I’ve been visualizing being up there for at least a month and in my mind it’s looking good.
Earlier this year I had been in the habit of posting little micro videos on Facebook and one of them happened to be about this really inspiring quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson which said,
Adopt the pace of nature; her secret is patience”
In my micro video I talked about how I’ve struggled to overcome procrastination and perfectionism and how if we endeavor to make any change in life whatsoever, we need to be patient with ourselves.
My good pal Dianna happens to be a volunteer board member for PKN and asked me to turn it into a presentation. I was so honored and excited to share this personal message with the incredible folk here in Knoxville.
If you’re able to make it get ready to whistle because I’m gonna do something that’s never been done in the Bijou theater before! And if you can’t make it, stay tuned for a special recording. My cousin and former presenter, Burke Brewer, will be there recording the whole thing for me!
