Day 3 – New Evening & Morning Routine
You’ve Gotta Get More Zzzzz’s To Have A Better Day
This is day 3 of a 7 day challenge which is an excerpt from my upcoming ebook. I’ve pasted it here for you.
_
Some say that how our morning goes so goes the day. Are you stressed and hurried, skipping breakfast, pounding the coffee, forgetting your umbrella? That scattered energy has a higher chance of following you throughout the day.
But before creating a new morning routine, it makes sense to start with a bedtime routine because the two are intertwined.
Most people don’t prioritize sleep. This is a huge problem if you want to look and feel good, have a healthy immune system, have less depression, anxiety, and stress, and want to have loads of natural energy.
From this moment forward I want you to mentally agree that you’re going to be the kind of person who prioritizes sleep. You need good rest to have a good day.
Holly’s Story
“I guess you could say I was resistant to routines.
Everyone knows me as this super chill, go with the flow person. I was resistant to having a routine, because I pride myself on being so flexible. I didn’t want my life to be rigid and mundane. But once I started incorporating the small habits that we talked about like drinking a glass of water, then brushing your teeth, and eating a warm grounding breakfast, my day became more efficient.
I started to feel better and poop better too! I’ve started to set my alarm back in 15 minute increments, in order to wake up earlier and add more items to my morning routine. In this way I can give more to others, because I have poured more into myself.”
New Rules For Sleeping:
- Get 8 hours or more
- Don’t eat past 6:00 or 7:00pm
- Don’t drink any fluids an hour before bed
- Set an alarm on your phone for bedtime
- Read a book – no tech
- Take that magnesium oxide supplement
- Lights off 30 minutes before you want to go to sleep
New Morning Routine:
- Wake up and think a positive thought
- Stretch, try not to check your phone or get sucked into Facebook
- Check the weather
- Stretch some more, go pee
- Brush your teeth or oil pull
- Get some tea going
- Drink a liter of purified water (reverse osmosis or spring water which you can find at a local health food store)
- Make a daily to-do list, carry over items from the day before
- Set aside time in the morning for prayer and devotions, reading, and journaling even if its for 10 minutes
- Make a healthy breakfast like the one I eat every day, or some gluten free oatmeal, or Ezekiel sprouted bread with avocado and sauerkraut
- Depending on whether or not you work from home, your physical activity will either come in the morning, afternoon, or evening
This is your new evening and morning routine. Set your alarm for bed tonight and think about all the new things your going to work on tomorrow morning.
XO,
Bri
