You know there is an obsession these days, it seems, to do with anything French…how they dress, why they don’t get fat, how they parent, and more.
It’s understandable to me. I love French culture and I’m not one bit ashamed to admit it.
Being an American having lived in Germany as a child, I totally understand from first-hand experience what it is like to live and breathe a different philosophy on life. Although Germany and France couldn’t be more different, one thing these two countries, and all European countries have in common is their love of travel.
As a kid, my mom took me to Holland, Austria, France, and Switzerland. I love Europe. But there is one place I have yet to really sink my teeth into and that’s France. I’ll be honest…I so desperately want to go.
I dream of going to the flea markets in Paris and scoping out killer vintage barrettes and odds and ends. I dream of checking out the Matisse chapel and heading south to Porquerolles to see the island without cars.
Because I’m still saving up for a trip with my husband, I get my Franco-fix through blogs, photographs, movies, and books!
I’ve been following blogger, Siham Mazouz, for some time now and during this time I’ve learned to fall even more in love art, design, beauty, and style from France. It’s about the joy of life if you ask me; enjoying the beautiful things, the small things that help you feel more at home in every way…and more yourself.
Si is an inspiration. I love her aesthetic and kind personality. If you’re inspired by all things beautiful like I am then you’ll be instantly in love with her blog (assuming you aren’t already a fan).
And if you’re as enamored with French culture and design as I am, then you’ll be happy to know you can peer into the homes of several French families in Si’s new book “How The French Live: Modern French Style”, which is coming out on March 6th. I honestly couldn’t wait to get my copy, so I pre-ordered one on Amazon today.
